Herb Exchange

  • We ask all buyers to support the Sonoma County Herb Association by becoming a member. SCHA membership is required for the purchase of herbs from the Sonoma County Herb Exchange

    How to purchase herbs:

    Herbs are generally purchased by pre-order (recommended) or by walk in at our location on Laguna Farm in Sebastopol (1720 Cooper Road). Walk in inventory is limited, so pre-ordering is highly recommended. Fresh herbs are cut to order and delivered to the Herb Exchange on Tuesday mornings for distribution.

    Walk in Hours: 2-5pm Tuesdays or other days by arrangement.

  • Currently available herbs can be ordered for pickup from our Laguna Farms location (1720 Cooper Road) on Tuesday of the following week. Please call or email your order by the Wednesday preceding your Tuesday pick-up. Shipping is generally available with an additional handling charge.

    Herbs can also be pre-ordered for pickup when they become available.

    Once you have a pre-order on file, you can feel free to update it throughout the season.

    Pre-ordering is a very good way to make sure you get the herbs you want in your medicine cabinet or kitchen for the 2024 season, as SCHE operates on a first request, first provide basis. Sometimes, pre-orders completely deplete the inventory of certain herbs, so it is highly recommended that you pre-order your desired herbs as early as possible.

    How to order/preorder:

    To order, please send an email to herbexch@sonic.net with the following information:

    Requested herbs (preferably listed in alphabetical order) by common name (if you know the botanical name, please include for the sake of clarity).

    The part that you are looking for (leaf, root, berry, herb, bark, etcetera).

    Whether you want fresh or dried. We will assume that you want fresh herbs unless you specify dried.

    The amount that you want of each herb. Please note we ask a minimum of 1/2 lb per fresh herb request.

    EXAMPLE:

    1 lb ASHWAGANDHA (Withania somnifera) ROOT, FRESH.

    2 lbs ELECAMPANE (Inula helenium) ROOT DRIED

    2 lbs NETTLE (Urtica dioica) HERB FRESH

    Once your order has been reviewed, you will receive a call or email confirming availability. For pre-orders, you will be contacted near harvest dates to arrange pickup or delivery.

Members

  • Sign up to become a member of the SCHA in person at the Sonoma County Herb Exchange at 1720 Cooper Rd, Sebastopol, CA 95472 from 2-5pm on Tuesdays from mid-March through mid-December.

    We can accept cards, Paypal, cash or check.

Billing

  • We hate to see you go!

    We are here to listen and support you, is there anything that we can do to keep you around? If so, please reach out!

    If you do need to cancel your membership:

    • Log into your Account Profile and Click “Renew, Upgrade, or Update Billing”

    • Select “Cancel My Membership”

    • Save

  • Existing Members:

    1. If you are set up for Credit/Debit/Paypal billing on your Account Profile Page, please email sonomaherbs+membership@gmail.com before your renewal date (so that your card/Paypal does not get automatically charged) and ask to be switched to Offline Payment (or ask us in person at the Herb Exchange).

    2. Mail or deliver payment to the Herb Exchange as outlined below.

    New Members or existing members who payed with Cash or Check last time:

    • In person payments can be made at the Sonoma County Herb Exchange in Sebastopol (1720 Cooper Road) from 2-5pm on Tuesdays from mid-March through mid-December.

  • In person renewal payments (cash, check, card, or Paypal) can be made at the Sonoma County Herb Exchange at the 1720 Cooper Rd, Sebastopol, CA 95472 from 2-5pm on Tuesdays from mid-March through mid-December.

Business Members

  • To submit a class or event to be posted in the SCHA Newsletter, email scha.bizmember@gmail.com the following:

    • Event name, date, cost, and description (including instructor bio if appropriate).

    • Event flyer.

    • Ticket purchasing link (Eventbrite, etc.).

    • Website/Socials/Contact info (if desired).

  • To update your business’ information on our Resources Page, send an mail with changes to scha.bizmember@gmail.com.
